Rev. Geo. Whipple
Dear Sir;
I recd a letter from Rev. W. F. Butler of Louisville Ky wishing me to go there and teach for them[.] He said that he had made an application for me to Rev. M. E. Strieby, and that he had accepted me.
I have taught as assistant teacher at Binghamton N.Y. also Montrose Pa. and last summer was teaching at Darlington Md. under the A.M. Association.
I belong to a Baptist church in Syracuse N.Y. and can give you (if necessary) a letter of christian commendation[.] If you wish references as regards my teaching &c. I refer to Mr Strieby whose church I attended for a great many years- I would like to be employed for six months.
I would like to hear from you at your earliest convenience for a friend of mine is going to Louisville and he would accompany me.
