Revd M. E. Strieby,
Dear friend:
Fearing that possibly you may not have received my note of the 10th I write again. Is it not convenient for you to send me right on to Havre De Grasse this week? I am quite anxious to go on immediately. You need not fear but what I can do some pioneer work in Md. Do not wait to perfect arrangements for board, pay &c. I know my people too well to doubt about obtaining “shelter and food.” I wish you would write to have me come at latest Friday of this week to New York enroute for, my first field of labor in Md. if I can of sooner there then elsewhere.
I am yours most expectantly
E G Highgate
P.S. I can go on alone.
