Revd M. E. Strieby,
Dear Friend,
Your letters were forwarded to me at Hannibal. I will write to you in a few days probably the 23rd ult. from Mexico and send you a draft of at least $75. I will also in that letter give you a report of what will then be my eleven days effort. Enclosed is $1.75 for sub. for the A. M. May. Please have the Dec. No. sent on as soon as possible. Miss Ida Holmes, Mr. Geo. Foster, Mr. Enid Pratt of Gilberts Mill, Oswego Co N.Y. Mrs. L. M. Burnam and also, Mrs Laura Smith who is to take the paper, 24” mo. of North Seriba, Oswego Co. Please send the paper to Revd C. M. Prescott N. Seriba who has promised to take up a yearly collection for our Asso. Now, in this place is an old man, probably 65 yrs of age by the name of Haman Goodsell. He has considerable repute as a scientific farmer. He is not a moral man besides being an avowed infidel. The people here where he has long lived say, what I have just written. He wants to go South to take charge of some one of those abandoned plantations. He asked me for the address of some one to apply to and I gave him yours. I know you could further dispose of his case. Please send to me at Syracuse the Dec. Mag & paper.
Yours truly,
E. G. Highgate.
