This Deed made this the twenty sixth day of October year of Our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven by us James Peaco Sr. Joseph J. Christy, Benjamin Smith James Peaco Jr. Sidney H. Skinner Jessie Johnson Jessie White and David Thomas. Trustees of the Mount Luis [[?]] African Methodist Episcopal Church; all of the town of Havre de grace. Harford County State of Maryland.
Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar in hand paid to us the aforesaid Trustees, we the said James Peaco Jr., Sidney H. Skinner, Jessie Johnson, Jessie White, and David Thomas, Trustees aforesaid, do grant bargain and sell unto Isaiah [[?]] DeCoursey, Daniel J. Ross, David Thomas. Samuel White, [[unk word]] Bishop. George A. Johnson, and Alibin [[?]] Armlead [[?]], Trustees of the Anderson Institute and in [[unk work (or 2?)]] forever; a part [[?]] of a certain lot of land situated in the town of Havre de Grace, Harford County, State of Maryland; marked and numbered on the map of the said town as number seventy in square two hundred and eleven, that part of the aforesaid lot intended to be hereby conveyed is bounded as follows beginning at a distance of sixty feet east from the corner of a twenty feet alley and Adams street; (said alley running [[strikethrough]] "north one hundred feet" [[/strikethrough]] from Adams to Stokes street) fronting thirty feet on said Alley then running North one hundred feet paralel with the line of lot number sixty nine thence west thirty feet to the line of lot number seventy one thence south one hundred feet to the place of beginning.
To have and to hold the said part of lot herein described for the purpose of a school for the colored people of the town of Havre de Grace, Harford County, Maryland.
