- Port Deposit building committee chairman Thomas Taylor informs Supt. Kimball that since the arrival of the teacher (Mary J. C. Anderson) the people have become divided. A new board has formed that is opposed to his board of trustees and to the establishment of the school. He asks Kimball to visit in order to sort out the issues.

Supperintender of the publice schools of the state of maryland
dear sir [[strikethrough]] mrs [[/strikethrough]] miss Anderson the teacher has a rived hear and was recived by the by the [[strikethrough]] old [[/strikethrough]] boad of the trustees of the publice school since she have came thear have been a new boad of trustees orginiced which is deadly aposed to the bilding of the poublice school house hear in port deposit now we wish to know if the new boad of trustees have enny pouer over the publice school house as they is apposes to bilding the school house we wish you Sir to please come on hear as soon [[strikethrough]] as [[/strikethrough]] as you receve this letter please come emmeyely for for we ar now a wating for you when you come you will stop whear fesser day stoped at Henry Johnsons please Sir- let us know when you will come and we will meet you at the Cars if you cant come pleas write to me and let us hear from you please to fetch with with you over Lest it is caled for by the land Lord as thear ar setling up the State
