- Port Deposit building committee chairman Thomas Taylor writes to Supt. Kimball that they have exhausted the money they had collected from among the people there and cannot continue construction. He asks Kimball to try to get a deed for them so that they can qualify for Bureau aid. He says the teacher Mrs. Anderson (Mary J. C. Anderson) has arrived but “the bord has deceived her.”

Mr Kimball
Dear Sir the reason why I didnot write to you before I have bin a wating to get someting good to tell concerning of our School House we have watied on the School Commissioners concerning of the money that [[strikethrough]] are [[/strikethrough]] is to get for the School but we have had no learning yet what money we have collect our selves it is all exosted and we have none to gan any fother not as yet. please to try and get the deed of that lot for us Mrs Anderson arrive here on Saturday 24th to take up School. the Bord have decieved her, we are looking for your arrival Soon, Yours Truly
