Rev. Jno. Kimball
Dear Sir
Our meeting at Hendon Hill has given much encouragement to the colored people and they are anxious to secure a teacher - can you send them one by Sept 1st. Please let me hear from you as early as possible, and at the same time authorize me to have made say 25 of Soapers Desks which I think I can have made for about 4$ each, but they are so anxious to start a school that they do not seem disposed to wait for Desks, they realized about 70$ from the meeting which pays about
one half of their indebtedness, and I think if they could get a good energetic teacher the balance would be soon settled. We are also now clear of debt at McComas institute and would take a teacher as soon as one could be had. Please let me hear from you as early as possible and when you have a Saturday and Sunday to spare would be glad to have you visit me in Harford. We will promise you a cordial welcome.
Yours Truly
