Bureau R.F. and A.L.
Office Supt. Education, D.C. &c
Washington, Sept. 27th 1869.
[[underlined]] McComas George W. Mr. [[/underlined]]
Dear Sir:
We intend to aid you $100.00, but it is for 25 Lopers desks, which you said you thought you could get for $4.00 each. Understand I do not object to your bill if it really got the desks to the school, paid for.
It is understood by [[underlined]] Genl. Whittlesey, [[/underlined]] A. A. A. Genl., that indirectly we aid to furnish desks. We are not able directly to pay for school furniture.
Respectfully Yours,
(Sgd.) John Kimball,
Supt. Education. - IIIF Manifests
