Miss:
I want the people to complete the organization as we began. Form an Association. State who shall be members.
Officers.
Officers shall consist of President, Vice President, and Secretary, who shall be elected by a majority of the vote of the members present, and shall serve one year each.
Trustees
There shall be five (5) trustees, who shall serve one year each, elected by a majority of the votes of the Association. Their duties shall be to care for the school, providing for it a place, fuel for warming, lights &c. and providing a boarding place for the teacher. They shall have all the charge of running the school
Building Committee
A building committee of five (5) shall be elected by the majority of the vote of the association, whose duties shall be to attend to the building of a school-house, hold all funds for that purpose, secure a lot of land, and put up a building when and where needed
Treasurers.
The trustees and building committee shall each have a treasurer, who shall hold all funds for each board.
Miss A., some such organization as this is needed, and I want you to have it formed. I want you to start the school immediately
and tell them if it is not well kept up I shall withdraw their teacher, and not send them another. We shall not go on to build the house as begun. Genl. [[underlined]] Howard [[/underlined]] will not aid to build so large a house, or one on leased land. I am sorry for their trouble and expense, but what has been done has not cost over $50.00. If they will buy a lot of ground, and send us copy of the deed, and build a house, say 20 x 30 feet, and have it done by the last of next month, we will pay $300.00 as soon as the house is done.
They ought to have a school house but that hall will do until they can unite and do better. Start your school on Monday and make it first class.
Very Respectfully Yours,

Supt. of Education.
