- Supt. Kimball sends plans for desks, recommends that lumber be acquired and the desks built. The Freedmen's Bureau has second hand desks and new desks could be purchased for $3 each, but Kimball recommends having them made at Darlington to save money.

Miss:
I send you plan for desk, and think they had best get lumber and
make them. Lumber ought to be cheap at Arlington. We have second hand desks. Good new desks can be bought at Baltimore for $3.00 each, but I think you can have them made much cheaper at D. Hope soon to see you in the new house. I want your report, even if only for part of a month.
I trust you will stay and make a first rate school.
