- Hager Gover grants the lot to the following trustees: George Turner, William Bond, Abram Evans, Thomas More, and Henry Brown. Deeded to the trustees for the erection of a schoolhouse for the benefit and education of the colored people of Marshalls and Bel Air districts of Harford County. Also signed by John P. Spicer, and Thomas Alderson. Notation at bottom of deed indicates that this copy was forwarded to Van Derlip by John Core on February 17, 1870.

This Deed made this twenty eighth day of December A D. 1867, by Hager Goves [[?]] of Harford County and State of Maryland "Witnesseth" that in consideration of the sum of five dollars, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Hager Goves [[?]], doth grant unto the following Trustees, George Turner, William Bond, Abram Evans, Thomas More, and Henry Brown, and their duly appointed successors, in trust, for the purpose of erecting, or allowing to be erected thereon a school-house, for the use, benefit and education of the Colered people of Marshalls and Bel-air Districts of Harford County forever. All that lot or parcel of ground lying in Harford County, which is described as follows; Begining for the same at a stone set in the ground, [[strikethrough]] which marks the North [[/strikethrough]] 26 links South 6° West from the stone which marks the North west corner of said Theodore's whole farm, thence South 6° West bounding on the lands of James Preston 505 links to a stone, thence South 83½° East 83 links to a stone, thence North 5½° East 505 links to a sassafras tree, 6 inches in diameter mark'd, thence north 80° West 83 links to place of Begining containing 67 perches of land more or less, as Witness my hand and seal
